Well life, I have been getting settled here in California and just working on me, missing my photography so I am jumping back in...I have made many great friends here in California! One of these friends will be getting married soon in her homeland Ireland and guess who will be the photographer I can't wait for next April!! Congrats to my friends Janice and Fred! Can't wait for the wedding!

New Chapter in Life

I LOVE destination weddings!!! I met Catherine while on assignment in Dallas...if you remember back in May I did their E-session....Anyway they are an awesome couple! Catherine's family took me on a tour of Dallas while I was there that was great and I was even invited to her bachlorette party in Vegas...of course I went I love Vegas! So I got to meet a few friends and the her family before the wedding, so at the wedding I felt like I know everyone.

I had never been to Destin, Florida what a beautiful place! August 29th, the house on the beach, the beautiful white sands and the gorgeous weather made for a fabulous day! Here are a few of my favorites...Congratulations Ryan and Catherine I will you all the happiness in the world...Next time you are in California make sure you call me!

Boose Wedding

I know I mentioned before I have been doing travel nursing so I have just had an a great year of meeting new people and seeing new places! I decided to scale back just because I had now idea where I would be next...so I booked a few weddings when I knew I would be in town! My birthday weekend for one! I spoke to Vernida while I was in Dallas...she told me the date of her vow renewal and the the location (The Spirit of Norfolk) I get sea sick so this was one I had to think about...lol! So on August 8th made sure I had lots of ginger candy and off to the Spirit of Norfolk I went...I had been in California for 3 months and coming back to the east coast the heat wow you can tell the difference! It was a great day and Vernida and Fred's renewal was a beautiful event!

I have been really bad at blogging my sister gets on me about this...lol.

I had the honor is shooting Lukas and Ecatherina's wedding on July 11th on the Quantico Marine Corp Base in Quantico, Virginia...wow what a great couple! I actually met them when Lukas was the best man in a wedding I shot last year! I have been doing some traveling so not doing alot of shooting this year but had to make it back from the west coast to shoot this wedding!I had such a great time with this couple and their friends and it was also great seeing Alex now the best man and Cat! I had alot of favorites but I had to make a cut so enough of my talking here they are enjoy!

Wow what a day! I had a shoot today with 5 kids I think all under the age of 3! They were sooo cute!! They are so unpredictable but you get some of the greatest shoots! I thought we were gonna have a washout the rain started as soon as we started the shoot...but it stopped and the sun came out but oh the humidity that followed so we haven't gotten to summer yet are you sure...lol Anyway enough about that I had share some of these images with you...

On March 14th I had the pleasure Of shooting Maria and Derek's wedding. I met Maria 2 years ago when she was a bridesmaid & sang at a wedding I shot and her dad was the pastor and again last May at another wedding. She has a beautiful voice! It was great to see my two former brides who where now Bridesmaids in her wedding! Even thought the weather was not the greatest we made the best of the day...I wish you both the greatest happiness! Wow I can't believe how fast time goes!!! I have already been in Dallas for 2 whole weeks! I am finding my way around and trying to figure my next stop! I love traveling and meeting new people so travel nursing is great for that! However orientation to a new job is always a drag...but what can you do just go along for the ride!
I will be heading to Virginia Beach in a couple of weeks for a long weekend to shoot a wedding and do a few meetings so if you wanna catch up with me I will be there March 13-16th.

Changes!

Well, I know I said I would be a better blogger but I just can't seem to get on a role...
I have mentioned before I am a nurse well I still work in a GI lab, I have for the past 5 years and really enjoy it...this year I have decided to do some travel nursing, where I will take 13 week contracts in different states...first stop Dallas, TX! I leave for Dallas this Friday and will be assigned there until the beginning of May. I am very excited and looking forward to the change of scenery! I will still be traveling back to the Hampton Roads area to shoot so I will post my dates I will be in the area.
I will miss my friends but I am looking forward to making more friends! So if you are in the Dallas area shoot me an email I'll need to learn my way around and might need a little help!!!

I have been so bad at blogging I just remembered I never blogged my last wedding of 2008...so I had to share a few shots from Brian and Beth's wedding! The Ceremony was held in the Wren Chapel on campus of William and Mary and the reception at the Williamsburg Winery. I love both these locations so we had a great time with lots of places to shoot! I met this couple the day of their wedding and we had a blast...both families were just awesome, I felt like I know them forever! Brian and Beth I wish you both the best!

Last weekend my friend Joy flew her family in to Maryland from Chicago so I could do her family pictures. Joy and I have been friends for about 15 years since her oldest son was six months old...I can't believe how time flies! Our first nursing job wow the memories!!! I don't get to see her very often but we talk often...she is the hardest working person, I know if I don't hear from her for a while I know she is doing a long work stretch or traveling for work.

So when she asked if I would come to Maryland to do the pictures I said no problem...I had a wedding Saturday in Norfolk, Virginia so when it was over I drove to Maryland getting there at 2:30am...but anyting for a friend she would do it for me! Joy hope you like the pictures the boys are getting so big I can't believe it! I love you and hope to see you again soon!

I know I have been really the worst blogger ever...I know I mentioned before I am a nurse and I still work a nursing job...well like everything else there has to be change and so for the hospital I work for we are in transition from paper charts to electronic ones which means we have a whole new computer system...YEAH!! So as you can imagine it has been a bear because if you are a nurse you know if you didn't chart it you didn't do it....so that being said we are spending alot of time on these computers, paying attention to the computers making sure we find the right spots to chart...So this is where I have been.
I do have a few events to post so in the next few days I plan to get these up...so don't count me out yet I'll try to make it up...

I had the pleasure of photographing Tom and Diana's wedding September 13, what a cute couple! They had a beach ceremony followed by a champagne brunch reception at the Lesner Inn. I think everyone had a blast including myself! I had a hard time choosing my favs I had a lot but had to narrow them down I still have alot but it's been a while since I blogged so I am allowed right!!!

Hello everyone I know it's been a minute since my last post but I have had a lot going on!!!

After my fab vacation in Jamaica! I had to move oh the joy of moving...so my Internet is still not set up on my main computer that will be next week....so here is where the issue comes in...because I have been just running nonstop for the past few weeks I kindda noticed I had not gotten any mail from my website but I did get the chance to check things out, so finally I sent a test myself after a few of my clients told me they sent me mail and I didn't respond...I am soooo sorry.

Yes, my email is down for some reason and I do have someone working on that.

My other wedding this past Saturday also happen to be a friend...Kathy and I work together for the past 5 years...wow I can't believe it has been that long! Summer Vacation!!!

Okay so it has been a few weeks since I last blogged so I have to make it up right...Well I am leaving on vacation on Friday August 8th through August 16th doing my favorite thing traveling!!! First stop Jamaica then when I return I will be in New York for a few days...so forgive me if you email or call and I don't respond right away...I hope everyone is having a great summer!
I have a couple weddings I need to blog both friends of mine and back to back last Friday and Saturday so I of course have to tease them a bit before I leave...LOL!

I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Tesha and Scott this past Saturday July 12th, What a beautiful service! I met Tesha last year March and her wedding was suppose to be last year but had to reschedule to this year. I am sure she is happy she waited because I think all the planning showed. She did alot of the decorating herself along with a few friends and family. What a challenge but she did a beautiful job!

Both the ceremony and the reception was held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center and Darcy the Events coordinator was just wonderful to work with! Thank you Darcy again for all your help!

On Thursday June 19th I had the pleasure of shooting this intimate wedding I total of 26 guest...very sweet! Everything was held at the Wyndham on the oceanfront. Scott Robert Workshop Day 4

Day 4 of my workshop....I was sick this day so it was very hard for me to concentrate I was also on Dramamine so a bit sleepy...I again didn't do the posing I was second shooting...I believe Scott did the posing on Some and Chryssy on the others. I finally had the chance to edit my images from Day 3 of my workshop...I followed Scott around this day so he did all the posing and I just second shooting. I was fun to watch him pose because he just made it look so easy when he did things. At times I was thinking I would never have thought to do that and it was just simple things like the angle but things are a lot easier when you are not on a time crunch...We were in Cozumel, Mexico at a resort, the owner let us use a room and have a run of the place very nice of her...So here are a few from the day it was very hard to choose I didn't realize I took so many pictures...okay so I know I am a shutterbug I can't help it!! It's so hard to do things when you are not home...so I promised to get these out I fell a little behind being out of town.

I had the pleasure of shooting Jessica and Josh's wedding this past Thursday at the Virginia Beach Resort and Conference Center on Shore Drive. Jessica and Josh are such a sweet couple, they have been together since high school and live in Buffalo, New York. So of course I just met them a few days before the wedding. We spoke several times on the phone and got along great so I knew we would have fun! Jessica loves pictures so we had a great time! I hope you two have a wonderful honeymoon cruising for 9 whole day! Oh what a beautiful day...I had the pleasure of shooting Jessica and Kevin's wedding on Friday in Manteo, NC ...if you remember Friday was not forcasted to be the best day it was suppose to rain the entire day all I have to say is I don't even listen to the weather they don't seem to know what they are talking about most the time. It was such a gorgeous day they could not have asked for more. Scott Robert Workshop Day 2

Day 2 was our first port Key West what a great place the buildings were just the cutest! Models for Day two Christiana and Roger who were married a year ago (Scott shot their wedding)!

Again all our couples were extremely patient with us and made things so much fun. We had a blast walking around the streets of Key West people allowed us to use them in our images and people just placed themselves in at times. That was funny! Our group had a collaborative effort with the poses this day so I don't remember who actually set each shot up. We had fun that's what counts!

Scott Robert Workshop Day 1

Well as I promised here finally are a few images from my workshop with Scott Robert. Our first night on the ship Scott demonstrated his signature lighting then split us into groups and gave us a set of models. My group had the very patient Michelle and Adam I wondered sometimes what they were thinking of us putting them in all these different poses and changing our minds and everyone having an input turn this way no I think this...LOL. But they survived! They were great. We took them to one of the upper decks of the ship the wind blowing the ship swaying...but they didn't complain such great sports Thanks again guys! I don't think I was the happiest with my images from the first night but shooting out of my comfort zone was what I wanted to learn..so here are a few of my images from day one...

Scott Robert Lim Next Level Workshop

WOW what a week! I got to spend the week in a cruise doing a workshop with Scott Robert Lim an amazing Photographer that I have been following for a while...There was a group of 22 including our models. Everyone was just great and extremely talented. This was my first workshop so I wasn't sure what to expect. Photography is my love and if I get to travel too what could be better than traveling with a group of Photographer and seeing all the amazing images they produce from the same venue! Following Scott around and him explaining how he sees light was just amazing! I will definitely attend another workshop.

This was also my first cruise...I can now say I have been on a cruise and check that off on my list I don't think I will cruise again...We sailed from Miami I went early so I could hang out for a day before the cruise If you love architecture you have to just go to South Beach just beautiful! Our first stop was Key West we then stopped in Cozumel Mexico and spent a day at sea coming back to Miami. Okay the stops were great the day at sea however was not cool can we say SEA SICK yes I got sea sick, all I can say is boy I am glad I had Dramamine. The next day and a half I was still swaying like I was still on the ship...so even thought I had the time of my life I won't be cruising any more...

Scott thank you for the awesome learning experience, it was great seeing you again! To my fellow next level workshop group it was great meeting you all and we will stay in touch!

Spring Time!!!

Today was a beautiful day, 80 the sun was shining so, I took Isaiah to the park the mountain as he calls Mount Trashmore...and he had a blast of course until he fell running down hill of course not being able to stop landed on his arm on the sidewalk all that grass no he land on the sidewalk....just a couple scratches made him shake it off and it was back to rolling down hill! He had a grand time just rolling on the hill I don't think he even cared to go play on the swings.

It's amazing how fast they grow I can't believe he will be 5 in 2 weeks...I try to get pictures of him every year around or on his birthday so I can just look at the changes from year to year...man you just don't see it until you look at them side by side. He still makes his silly little faces but he's growing up. Of course here are a few pix from today...

This hasn't happened to me before...I usually meet my brides months in advance and talk to them a couple of times at the very least before the wedding day. Well I was contacted by the groom and did everything over the phone and met them for the first time this past Friday the 14th the day before the wedding. So this made me very nervous because I didn't know what to expect...I am very happy to say they are the sweetest couple! I had the best time at the wedding the families were just wonderful! Of course since I was having such a great time I don't think my shutter ever stopped, editing will be just fun. I have picked a few so far that I thought I would share so while on there Honeymoon they might actually get to a computer and check these out...

Okay I know I have been a little slow with my posting but it's a little crazy these past few weeks.

I met Sandy a few weeks ago and she told me her plans for a very intimate ceremony at sunrise (Tim, Sandy, the minister, her friend and Tim's brother) Oct. 27th. This is the smallest wedding I have ever done! It was beautiful! Okay so we didn't have a beautiful sunrise wedding on the beach because it decided to rain for about 3 days straight after having no rain forever...But we just made a few changes to the venue and they didn't seem to even care about the rain, just watching the both of them you could just see the sunshine around them! They are so much in love you couldn't help but fall in love with them! We had the best time...Sandy and Tim I wish you both all the happiness in the world! Have fun in Australia!

Okay, I have been pretty calm up till now but I don't think I can stand anymore! My A/C went out well today makes a week now and this is the second time this summer and always on the hottest days of the year! Okay I grew up in New York and no we didn't have central air but I have grown accustom to certain things and I hate to be hot!! Of course the repairman was suppose to come on Friday last week but that didn't happen so here we are, they came today and of course they need a part so they can't come back till Friday! Today was the hottest day and I could stand it somewhat until this, it is 95 degrees in my house did you hear me people 95!!! I have told all my friends that all I want for my Birthday (which is tomorrow) is to have A/C that is all! It is a good thing I have really good friends that have offered their home to my son and I or I think I would loose it! I think I got it all out now....I will keep you posted...

Here we go! This is the youngest of my 2 sisters Karaine she is quite the model! This past week her and her husband celebrated their 7 year anniversary, they had a destination wedding in Jamaica. I was just starting to get into photography then, since then I have perfected my craft and so as a gift to her I did a photo shoot in her wedding dress which amazingly still fits...I don't think mine will come past my knees! The second wedding from last Saturday....Jennifer contacted me last year and when we meet she gave me a few details of what she was planning for her wedding. It was a castle theme her being the princess of course marring her prince. All I have to say is Jennifer you out did yourself! Everything was just beautiful, everything might not have been perfect in your eyes but as I told you if you are happy at the end of the night and your guest leave happy you can't sweat the small stuff. I had a wonderful time and from watching your guest so did they! Have a great time in Jamaica! Here is a teaser.....

The reception was held at Fords Colony Country Club in the Garden Pavilion and the Exquisite decorations were done by Rodney Clements and his crew from It's our Specialty! They were just great to work with...Rodney was also the Event Planner.

Well, I have returned from vacation and right away it was back to business...I think I need a vacation from my vacation. I had a great time in Chicago, I met one of the best photographers ever Scott Robert Lim . He is so down to earth and I felt like we were old friends maybe because I read his blog almost every day. I have a great friend Joy that lives in Chicago! We don't get to see each other often but keep in touch via phone calls and email. She doesn't have a blog but seriously needs one she sends monthly emails to all her friends and family...these are the longest emails and since I am not the fastest typist in the world I think would take me forever to type...anyway she sent an email a couple of days ago, it was something her aunt had sent her It made me think and was just a great little piece inspiration, so if my cut and paste skills are up to par hopefully you can get something from it...

CALM DOWN! God has your life under control. He knows how to handle even the seemingly complex situation with ease.Then, SHUT UP! Stop having pity parties and talking about your "business" all the time. Don't you know that the power of death and life is in the tongue? Stop speaking negative things into existence in your life and others.STOP TRIPPIN'! When you look at your situations through your eyes, you often read more into the situation than what's there. It's not as bad as you think. 2. Be courageous! 2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of Love, and of a sound mind." Liza and Eddie's wedding started my year we had a great time and didn't let the cold weather get us down..

I took some shoots for my friend Maureen owner of Anjella Paulette Day Spa in Ghent..She did the Make up on our lovely model.

Mary of Pink Petals flowers and Gifts made these really fun centerpieces for a 60th birthday party isn't it just great!!

This was my first meeting with Melissa and Derek. Can I tell you how awesome this couple is I had the greatest time getting to know them I did there wedding in April and I had a blast!

Yes Melissa made a Beautiful bride I had a hard time choosing because I wanted to put them all up!!

while I waited watching the caterers and the florists and the DJ do there last minute set up I walked up on the cake with the sun hitting just that one spot isn't it great...

As you all know when you plan an outdoor event you pray about the weather from the moment the plan is written down until the event itself...Of course you also watch every weather report in hopes that one of them will say what you want to hear. I did all the above because I had to shoot Lynn and Andre's wedding on the beach this past Saturday. Believe me at the start of the week it was sounding okay and by Thursday not so good so imagine my surprise when I got up on Saturday and saw the Absolutely BEAUTIFUL day it turned out to be.....Lynn and Andre could not have picked a more perfect evening to exchange their vows!!!
